Today is World Oceans Day! I created this piece from one of my favorite times on the ocean. The skiff is so tiny - I put a Bahamian dime next to it for scale - plus there are bonefish on their dime. Here are some ocean facts!

Every other breath you take comes from the ocean! The ocean contains more than 97% of the world's water and generates more than half of the oxygen we breathe. Phytoplankton - tiny marine plants that live on the ocean's surface - produce an estimated 50-80% of Earth's oxygen.

From fisheries to tourism, more than 3 billion people rely on the ocean for their livelihood.

Seafood accounts for approximately 20% of global animal protein consumption. Not only do humans eat it, but tons and tons of fish are harvested to be milled into feed for livestock.
