Today is World Giraffe Day!!! Not only is it a worldwide celebration of these amazing and much-loved animals, but an annual event to raise support, create awareness and shed light on the challenges giraffes face in the wild. There are 4 times as many elephants existing in Africa as giraffes. 4 times more! Isn't that crazy?! Of the nine giraffe subspecies, two are Critically Endangered, one is Endangered, two are Vulnerable, and one is Near Threatened on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species.
