Flamingo Facts: There are 6 different species of flamingos, and their beautiful plumage is not always pink. It is dependent on their diet and its carotenoid pigment content. So depending on their environment, they can be bright pink to white or grey. Young flamingos have straight bills, but the break develops as they mature.
