WiLd REDFISH
WiLd REDFISH
This is the WiLd REDFISH piece in my WiLd series. I love the neon colors in this piece -- definitely reminds me of the totally awesome 80's and 90's. This might have been my choice in fashionable school supplies if Mead would have made this into a rad Trapper Keeper!
Red drum have also been called redfish, spottail, red bass, and channel bass. The lifespan of a red drum can exceed 40 years. Red drum inhabit inshore and offshore waters along the Atlantic coast from Massachusetts to Key West and throughout the Gulf of Mexico.
Fish facts: Did you know that Texas Parks and Wildlife stocks Calaveras Lake and Braunig Lake with thousands of Redfish fingerlings every year?! Redfish can live in freshwater! This is possible because redfish do not require salt to be present, but rather high levels of calcium and magnesium — the kind we find in “hard water.” Texas A&M discovered this nearly 30 years ago, and ever since the Longhorn State has been stocking a couple freshwater lakes with redfish.
This original acrylic piece is on a 15" x 30” x 1.5" stretched cotton canvas. This is signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
