PROJECT 53 FOR $53 - #43-53
PROJECT 53 FOR $53 - #43-53
I decided to make a little WiLd piece for this Friday’s piece!
Although occasionally considered a nuisance by homeowners, the nine-banded armadillo's habit of digging up lawns is driven by its appetite for grubs -- which can also harm lawns. They are skilled at digging for grubs, insects, other invertebrates, and occasionally eat berries and bird eggs. They are not found where the soil is too hard to dig.The armadillo is the state small mammal of Texas.
Amazing Armadillo Fact: Armadillo quadruplets are genetically identical, the result of a single fertilized egg splitting in half, and the two halves splitting in half again, before implanting in the uterine wall months later, a reproductive strategy unique in the animal kingdom.
This original piece is a 4.5"x6.5" watercolor painting on an 8"x10" 300 gsm paper and is available in the shop! Only one available so grab it fast! This piece will also be featured in a set of cards coming out before Christmas! Email if you have questions or want more information. All the Project 53 for $53 pieces come with certificates of authenticity.
